On October 31 the reporters asked Ruben Tovmasyan, first secretary of
the Central Committee of the Communist Party, hosted at the Pastark
Club, if the three majority parties help the three Communist Parties,
that is the conventional, new and progressive communists to be able
to cover the costs of sustaining the party. "I am hearing this for
the first time. This is the first time I hear the majority parties
help anyone. Why should they help? Are my words like the words of the
leader of a party which is favored? No, it is clear slander against
the Communist Party of Armenia," Ruben Tovmasyan says.
Nevertheless, the supposition about the caring attitude of the
government toward the communists is not so groundless. For instance,
the youth wing of the Communist Party has recently held a conference
which was covered by the Public Television and the H2 channel.
Considering the contents of these channels and the degree of
"attention" to the opposition, corresponding conclusions can be made.
After all, these channels have never distinguished themselves for
covering meetings of the youth wing of any party which is considered
as opposition.
