BY 2008 DRAFT STATE BUDGET, PART OF ALLOCATIONS FOR URBAN DEVELOPMENT
TO BE SPENT ON SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIRS
YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, NOYAN TAPAN. By the 2008 draft state budget, 26
bln 723 mln drams (about 82.2 mln USD) will be allocated for urban
development – against 23 bln 837 mln drams in 2007. The RA minister of
urban development Vardan Vardanian said at the November 2 joint sitting
of the NA standing committees that 17 bln 548 mln drams of this sum
will be allocated for construction, reconstruction and major repairs of
educational and cultural facilities. 2 bln 685 mln drams will be
allocated for repairs of health, sport and administrative facilities.
On the whole, the allocated resources will allow to finish the
contruction and major repairs of 93 facilities in 2008.
1 bln 630 mln drams will be allocated for housing of refugees and
families left homeless by the earthquake, 728 mln drams – for state
assistance to museums, and 500 mln drams – for restoration of monuments.
