ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargyan left for Lori region to
participate in the events devoted to the start of maintenance work of
the deposit in Teghut, Saturday, ArmInfo was told at the press service
of the Armenian Government.

To recall, on November 1, Armenian Government approved the project of
Armenian Copper Programme (ACP) of commissioning the copper-molybdenum
deposit in Teghut in the North of Armenia. The program cost makes up
about $200-250mln and the duration of the project is 30-40years.
According to preliminary estimations, ore reserves in the deposit make
up 450mln tons, copper reserves-1,6mln tons with an average content of
0,355%, and molybdenum reserves-99 000 tons with an average content of
0,021%. It is planned to add 25-30 thsd tons of copper and 800tons of
molybdenum annually, which will ensure 40- 50% of gross copper
production and 20%-of gross molybdenum production of the republic. The
risk of ecological damage because of felling is the biggest problem, as
the deposit will be exploited by open method.
