REAL CHANCES TO WIN SILVER MEDALS

The Armenian national chess team has real chances to win silver medals
during the European Championship in Greece. In the 8-th tour the
Armenian national team tied the meeting with the Azerbaijani national
team 2:2. Vladimir Hakobyan was defeated by Temur Rajabov. Gabriel
Sargsyan defeated Turkish Ghashimov. Aronyan and Asryan tied their
matches.
Now the Armenian national team occupies 2-3 places with 12 team
and 19 individual points. The Israeli team occupies the 2-nd place
with additional index. In the final 9-th tour the Armenian team will
compete with the Israeli national team, thus the success would enable
our team to become a European champion. The Russian national team
has already won the title of the champion.
The Armenian women’s national chess team defeated Poland 2.5:1.5. Our
team is in the 3-rd place with 12 team and 19 individual points. Russia
is the leader here as well. In the final tour our women chess players
will compete with Georgia.
