letter, "Lots of reasons to reject resolution": Heaven forbid that the
United States should do something morally correct, like acknowledge
the genocide of the Armenians by the Turks. Twenty-four countries,
including Great Britain and France, have done so.
Would you give "deepest sympathy" to the Jews or the people of Darfur
for their tragedies? The Turkish government is not our friend or
ally. It blackmails us for money, or, in this case, policy, for the
right to use bases in their country. Why can’t the U.S. government
stand strong for once?
