ISTANBUL, NOVEMBER 8, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. Arat Dink, the
son of Hrant Dink, the assassinated editor-in-chief of the Weekly Agos,
has left Turkey.
As the Turkish press reports, Arat Dink together with his wife and
two children has left Turkey on account of the threats continuously
sounded in his and his family’s address, as well as because of the
resolution passed by a Turkish court.
According to the received data, the son of Hrant Dink has settled in
Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
It should be mentioned that a Turkish court condemned Arat Dink and
Sargis Serobian, the responsible secretary of the newspaper, to a
one-year conditional imprisonment with the charge of "insulting the
Turkish identity" about a month ago.
Arat Dink and Sargis Serobian were charged with Article 301 of the
Criminal Code of Turkey after the latters published the interview of
Hrant Dink with the "Reurters" agency in 2006 in the Weekly Agos, in
which the former editor-in-chief called the 1915 events as "genocide."
