Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier General
Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar conferred on Wednesday in Yerevan with Armenian
Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisian on expansion of mutual cooperation
between the two countries.

According to Public Relations Department of Iran’s Defense Ministry, at
the meeting, the Iranian minister said expansion of mutual cooperation
and increasing the current level of constructive ties between two
countries indicate the extent to which officials of the two sides are
determined to broaden such cooperation and help maintain stability
in the region.

Limiting the involvement of ultra regional powers could help restore
security and tranquility to the region, Najjar said.

"We believe that regional issues should be resolved with the help of
countries in the region," he said.

The Armenian premier, for his part, underlined the need for cooperation
to help establish and maintain stability and tranquility in the region.

At the meeting, the Iranian minister extended an invitation from
Iran’s first vice president to pay an official visit to Iran which
was welcomed by Armenian premier who appreciated the invitation.

He thanked on behalf of Armenian government and its nation for the
support of Iranian officials for broadening ties between the two
countries.
