CERTIFICATION OF TEACHERS AND HEADMASTERS ENVISAGED TO BE HELD EVERY FIVE YEARS

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The RA Ministry of Education and
Science envisages to hold a certification of teachers and headmasters
of institutions of general education every five years. According to
the information provided to a Noyan Tapan correspondent by Levon
Mkrtchian, the RA Minister of Education and Science, every year a
corresponding sum will be allocated from the budget for the retraining
of ten thousand teachers, as for the duration, it will last three,
four or more months instead of the current one or two weeks.
According to the Minister of Education and Science, retraining
departments open in pedagogical higher educational instituions for
this purpose. "At present, teachers having many years of working
experience and beginners receive equal salary and with the investment
of this system the ammount and form of the payment of the salaries
of pedagogues will change. The certification will allow to define
a salary, taking into consideration the retrianing and the titles
they have received, as well as the working experience they have,"
