ArmInfo. Armenian Government still fails to increase the share of taxes
in the country’s GDP, President of Central Bank Tigran Sarkisyan said
in the parliament, Tuesday, presenting the CBA’s conclusion on the
2008 draft budget.
According to T. Sarkisyan, "taxes-GDP" relation may eventually
become problematic. As CB’s president emphasized, in 2008 the share
of taxes in GDP of Armenia will make up 15,6%, in 2009-16,1% and in
2010-16,6%. T. Sarkisyan thinks that the country’s Government has to
make much effort to improve the situation in the sphere. He said that
in the result of the research of the government’s mid-term expenditures
since 2003 done by the CB, necessity emerged to renew the indicators
annually. Thus, in 2003 it was anticipated that the share of taxes in
GDP of Armenia will make up 15,2%, in 2004-15,5%, in 2005- 15,8%. In
2004-2006 when mid-term expenditure programs were regulated, the CB
had to re-specify these indicators, in the result of which in 2004 the
share of taxes in GDP made up 15,4%, in 2005 -15,8% and in 2006-16,2%.
