Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev told reporters in Baku
that "a solution should be found to the Karabakh conflict that will
ensure regular cooperation." According to him, "the current state of
the Karabakh conflict is a deep wound for Azerbaijan, Armenia and the
region as a whole." "The sooner the peace solution ensuring stability
is found, the better," the Prime Minister underlined.
Speaking about Bulgaria’s participation, Stanishev noted that during
the Bulgarian presidency of the OSCE in 2004 he helped establish the
Prague process, in the framework of which the Foreign Ministers of
Armenia and Azerbaijan are holding regular meetings to find peaceful
ways of solution."
"As an EU member state, Bulgaria considers that it’s necessary to
find a lasting and stable solution to the conflict, since the current
situation does not correspond to the interests of the two countries,"
he said.
