22% OF YOUTH IS UNEMPLOYED

Nowadays 22% of the Armenian youth looks for job, and 19% of them
are unemployed. These data are announced by the "Armenian Labor"
agency. According to the statistical department 829 thousands young
people, which is 25.7% of the population is youth.
According to the mentioned official data 22% unemployed are registered,
13.2% of which mentioned lack of working places, 3.6% – lack of
professional job, 1.1% – self ownership.
According to the same survey 23% of the unemployed are 16-18 years
old, 42% – 19-25 years old, and 35% – 26-30 years old. 76.8% of the
1150 young people are eager to leave the country.
The survey results were announced on November 11.
Armenia is the only country in CIS which has conducted such a survey,
and the 13th one in European Community.
