YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, NOYAN TAPAN. "We show a consistent policy to
everyone with our tax policy and everybody is brought to an equal tax
field today, be they pro-governmental or opposition," RA President
Robert Kocharian stated on November 14, answering journalists’
question, whether a businessman can have opposition views and not be
persecuted in Armenia.
In connection with the checkings held at enterprises of one of the
businessmen (Khachatur Sukiasian, an RA MP, the owner of the Sil
Concern: NT) R. Kocharian said that he does not know and is not obliged
to know the results of all checkings. At the same time, the President
said: "We will make public the results of these checkings and you
will see how that businessman deceived the Republic of Armenia." In
President’s words, there are people, who do not wish to reduce the
shady sector of their business and try to politicize that issue,
to make a racket, in order to give less money to the budget.
R. Kocharian also said that the list of the biggest tax-payers will
be made public at the end of the year, where it will be mentioned
how much tax entries have increased, including those of deputies,
who are famous for their business reputation.
