BULGARIAN PRIME MINISTER ATTACHES IMPORTANCE TO ARMENIAN-BULGARIAN CULTURAL AND SPIRITUAL CONTACTS

ETCHMIADZIN, NOVEMBER 15, NOYAN TAPAN. Catholicos of All Armenians
Karekin II, on November 15, receiving Bulgarian Prime Minister
Sergey Stanishev, who has arrived in Armenia on an official visit,
expressed satisfaction with close cooperation developing between the
two countries. The Patriarch expressed gratitude for care shown to
the Armenian community.

"We are glad that the representatives of our people as merited citizens
make their important contribution in Bulgaria’s public, political,
and cultural life. We wish to emphasize with a special satisfaction
the warm relations of the Mother See and the Bulgarian Embassy, which
are the reflection of our peoples’ age-old contacts and our countries’
cooperation," his Holiness said.

As Noyan Tapan was informed by the Information Services of the Mother
See of Holy Etchmiadzin, S. Stanishev touched upon dynamic development
of relations between Armenia and Bulgaria, mentioning that in addition
to political and economic relations, cultural and spiritual contacts
are also important. He also spoke about the communities of the Armenian
Apostolic Church and the Bulgarian Apostolic Church and their important
role in their peoples’ life.
