YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, NOYAN TAPAN. Haypost’s 100 employees, who
have been dismissed from their jobs, acted against the company,
the director general of Haypost Hans Boon stated at the November 14
press conference. According to him, there will be no such dismissals
in the next five years, even though some reduction of the staff is
envisaged. "No employee will be left unemployeed, we will try to find
jobs for them," H. Boon said. He informed those present that 3-year
collective agreements will be signed with the company’s employees soon,
as well as individual agreements of unlimited duration will be signed
with the experts who have long worked in their company.

H. Boon assured reporters that none of the 900 postal branches
will be closed but he did not say how many of the these branches
are in line with international standards. To recap, the company has
assumed an obligation to bring all the postal branches into line with
international standards. He did say either how much investment has
been made in Haypost in the past year. In his words, the company’s
revenues increased by 40% in the last nine months as compared with
the same period of last year.

According to H. Boon, the abuses revealed in the company by the Dutch
manager are still being investigated, and the final results will be
known in several months. At the same time, it was announced that no
abuses have been revealed by the international audit which lasted at
Haypost for three years.

H. Boon said that only after elimination of money extortion cases at
Haypost, they can speak about the opening of Haypostbank.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
