ArmInfo. Constitutional Law Union [CLU] party has not yet seen evident
front-runners to support them at the forthcoming presidential election
in 2008, the leader of the party Hrant Khachatryan said at today’s
press-conference.
He also added that though some politicians and political forces
have already declared about their participation in the presidential
election or supporting this or that candidate, one has to wait for
official nomination of candidates and their registration at Central
Electoral Commission. ‘I can only say for sure that the CLU party
will not take part in the election independently. We shall decide
later whom to support’, – Hrant Khachatryan said.
The leader of the United Communist Party Yuri Manukyan, who was taking
part in the press-conference, said that the party headed by him will
support candidacy of the RPA leader, Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisyan,
as he is a politician able to ensure security of the state borders
and raising of social and economic level of population.
