SIRUSHO TO REPRESENT ARMENIA

This afternoon, Armenian National Television has announced in a
special programme that the young singer Sirusho Harutyunyan will be
it’s representative in Belgrade. There will be a national final with
5 songs and the public will choose the winning song that Sirusho will
present at the contest.
Sirusho Harutyunyan is a young singer born on the 7th of January in
Yerevan, the Armenian capital. Her first public performance was at
the age of 7 and with only 9 years of age, she received an award for
her song "Lusabats". Apart from Armenia, Sirusho has performed in
countries such as Iran, Russia, Georgia and Poland.
Her first album was entitled "Sirusho" and released in 1999 with her
second album released in 2005. In the first Armenian national music
finals she won awards for best female singer, best album and the
future award of Armenian music. Currently she is the most important
female singer in Armenia and was the Armenian spokesperson at the
last Eurovision Song Contest.
In other news, Armenian National Television has anounced that it will
only broadcast the semifinal in which it will be taking part.

Company of Armenia has officially announced the decision about the
singer representing Armenia in ESC 2008. This time we gave a priority
to a very talented, young, beautiful female singer Sirusho. She has
won the Best Female Singer nomination at Armenian National Music
Awards 2005. For more information about Sirusho please visit her
official web-site Public TV of Armenia has announced
a competition for songs. Sirusho will choose 5 of them to sing at
the National Selection and public will vote for the best one. We
expect to have the winning song announced either in January or in
