ARMENIA APPROVES 2008 BUDGET

The Armenian National Assembly on Wednesday approved the country’s
2008 budget law, an Interfax correspondent reported from the assembly
meeting.

Revenue is forecast at 746 billion dram ($2.29 billion based on 325
dram/$1), spending at 822 billion ($2.53 billion), and the deficit
at 76 billion ($233 million), or 9.2% of spending.

The official exchange rate on November 27 stood at 304.33 dram/$1.
