ARONYAN DEFEATS IAN GUSTAFSON OF GERMANY

The second-round games of the World Chess Cup were held in the Russian
city of Khanty Mansiysk November 27. In the first game Grand Master
Levon Aronyan defeated Ian Gustafson of Germany, and in case of a draw
in the second game he will proceed to Round 3. Aronyan will compete
with the winner of the Francisco Valekho (Spain) – Ernesto Inarkiev
(Russia) pair.

Vladimir Hakobyan and Ghayem Maghami (Iran) drew the first game. The
second games of Round 2 are set for November 28.
