GOLDEN APRICOT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL’S DURATION TO INCREASE BY TWO DAYS

YEREVAN, NOVEMVER 30, NOYAN TAPAN. The 5th anniversary of the Golden
Apricot (Voske Tsiran) International Film Festival’s foundation
will be marked in 2008, on the occasion of which the chairmen
and the directors of the most famous film festivals, including
Cannes, Rotterdam, Goteborg, Pusan, as well as godfathers of world
cinematography, famous people and renowned figures of cinematography
will be invited. Atom Egoyan, a famous Canadian Armenian film director,
will be also present at the film festival’s 5th anniversary.

As Haroutiun Khachatrian, the director of the festival, informed Noyan
Tapan correspondent, the duration of the Golden Apricot International
Film Festival will be increased by two days as compared with the
previous ones, i.e. 7 days instead of 5. It will start on July 13
and will finish on July 20. According to the festival director,
the acceptance of film bids has already begun.

Besides, the number of the festival’s contest nominations will increase
by one: a contest for films shot in the countries of the region will
be also organized.
