ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received US Charge
d’Affaires a.i. Joseph Pennington.
The Armenian governmental press-service told ArmInfo that during the
meeting the sides touched upon the election assistance program, that
has been implemented by the US government since the parliamentary
election in May.
The International Republican Institute (IRI) suggests holding a public
opinion poll among the voters after they leave the polling stations –
the so-called "exit poll", and its results will be presented to the
political forces. S.Sargsyan welcomed this initiative, saying that it
is a rather good method to find out the voters’ position. "If this
organization didn’t carry out such an initiative, we’d invite other
company to do a similar work", he said. The meeting also covered
issues concerning the fight against corruption and media’s activity.
