PRICES OF NON-FOOD COMMODITIES RISE BY 1.2% IN ARMENIA IN NOVEMBER 2007

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, NOYAN TAPAN. 1.2% inflation was registered in
Armenia’s non-food commodity market in November on October 2007,
which was directly impacted by the rise in prices of gasoline (2.5%)
and diesel fuel (6.3%).
According to the RA National Statistical Service, prices of liquid
petroleum gas and firewood increased by 12.6% and 1.2% in November on
October 2007. In the indicated period, there was 0.1-4.2% growth in
prices of carpets, medicines, domestic electric appliances, cosmetics,
building materials, kitchen utensils, clothing, knitted facbrics,
furniture, textiles and jewelry. Prices of horticultural items and
cultural good fell by 0.2-0.9% in the indicated period, while prices
of stationery and detergents remained unchanged as compared with the
previous month.
