NEWLY APPOINTED MILITARY ATTACHE OF ITALY TO RA INTRODUCED TO RA DEFENCE MINISTER

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. Massimo Lavezzo Cassinelli, the
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia, on
December 5, introduced General Antonio Zambuco, the newly appointed
Military Attache of Italy to RA, to RA Defence Minister Mikayel
Haroutiunian. M. Haroutiunian expressed the hope that Armenian-Italian
military cooperation will be deepened for even more during A. Zambuco’s
tenure.
As Noyan Tapan was informed by the RA Defence Ministry, during the
meeting, the parties touched upon bilateral political and economic
cooperation carried out between the two countries, emphasizing the
necessity to deepen that cooperation especially in the military
sphere. Speaking about the Nagorno Karabakh settlement, the parties
attached importance to the peaceful settlement of the problem.
M. Haroutiunian in detail presented the regional situation, expressed
anxiety about bellicose statements often voiced by Azerbaijan.
At the end of the meeting the interlocutors also discussed a number of
issues related to regional security and stability, exchanged thoughts
about reforms being implemented in the RA armed forces.
