"WOMAN" FOURTH INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL STARTS IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. 39 films from 17 countries,
including Spain, Israel, Venezuela, Russia, to name but a few, will
be introduced in the "Woman" fourth international film festival,
being held in Hovhannes Tumanian Yerevan State Puppet Theatre between
December 5 and 10. According to the information provided to a Noyan
Tapan correspondent by Mariam Ohanian, the Director of the festival,
films of different genres, that is feature, documentary, short,
and animation films, the subjects stimulated in which are universal,
will be shown in the "Woman" festival.
In the words of Mariam Ohanian, the woman and her problems are in
the centre of attention of the festival. She also mentioned that the
authors of some of the demonstrated films are men and those films
will be shown only in the extra-contest program.
"The film festival tends to contribute to the development of the
art of women. They create mainly in the genre of documentary films
in the sphere of cinema, as it does not demand great sums," Mariam
Ohanian stressed.
The Director of the festival stated that the films will be demonstrated
in the hall of the Yerevan State Puppet Theatre.
