/PanARMENIAN.Net/ It would be ideal if the international community
agnized independence of self-proclaimed republic on the territory
of the former USSR, said Nugzar Ashuba, chairman of the Abkhazian
National Assembly.
Ashuba reminded that Abkhazia more than Kosovo deserves independence,
since the Kosovo issue under the UN consideration is not identical
to the situation.
South Ossetia, Abkhazia and Transnistria are not independent states
and suffer from economic sanctions and embargo imposed on them. If
recognized by the international community, the pressure will alleviate,
according to him.
When asked about Abkhazia joining Russia, Ashuba said, "To become a
part of a state it’s necessary to become a subject of international
law." "I am confident of Abkhazia’s capability to assert its rights,"
he added, Interfax reports.
