The Passport and Visa Department of RA Police periodically refreshes
the voting lists. According to RA Police Code, it is compiled as a
common list – the register of the voters of the Republic of Armenia.

As an authorized body, the Passport and Visa Department must submit
the register to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) at least 41
days ahead of the presidential elections scheduled for February 19,
2008. The voters’ register is an integral part of the web page of
the Central Electoral Commission.

At least 40 days prior to the elections heads of establishments
controlling the corresponding election districts are provided with a
copy of the voting list. The final version of the voting list is to
be stickled at the polling station two days ahead of the voting day
in a place visible to everyone.

Let us remind that according to the CEC, the number of voters reached
2 million 316 thousand during the parliamentary elections of May
12, 2007.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
