Armenian National Assembly Speaker Tigran Torosian received the
American-Armenian businessman, owner of "Haygorg" company, well known
in the sphere of international carpet making, Raffi Mkrian, Director
of the company Khosrov Navoyan and employees Leonid Andreasian and
Narine Seferian.
NA Speaker awarded Raffi Mkrian with NA Medal of Honor of the Republic
of Armenia for his contribution to protection and development of
Armenian carpet making.
Tigran Torosian thanked Mr. Mkrian for his and his family’s big labor
of about a century in the sphere of carpet making, attaching great
importance to the protection of national essence and cultural wealth.
Underlining the labor of the Mkrians that includes USA, Europe,
Australia, and in last six years also Armenia, Tigran Torosian
considered necessary holding a conference-exhibition in Armenia aiming
at the protection of the ancient handicraft. It will contribute to
the development of carpet making sphere in Armenia.
