GOVERNMENT EXPECTS A 26.7 BILLION DRAM LOAN FROM ARMENIA

The estimated budget receipts in 2008 surpass last year’s by 35
percent, and total 49 billion drams. In addition, own receipts are
estimated at 19.8 billion drams. The government of Karabakh expects
to get a 26.7 billion interstate loan from Armenia.

Budget outlays will total 52.5 billion drams, including 62 percent
on social needs.

Apparently, this sum does not include 3.7 billion drams foreseen
for sustaining government agencies. By the way, the number of civil
servants is said to increase by 250 and will total 8926. Salaries
of government officials and civil servants will grow as well. On the
whole, 3.3 billion will be spent on their salaries.

Social expenditure will grow by 56.9 percent. 1.4 billion drams will
be spent on agriculture instead of 288 million drams. 1.5 billion
will be transferred to Artsakh Investment Fund for the mortgage and
business loans to citizens. 13 billion is foreseen for construction,
1.3 billion for irrigation.
