"The New Year festivities will start at the Republic Square at 21:00,
December 31 and the year 2008 will be marked with salute," Kamo
Movsisyan department head at Yerevan municipality, told reporters
today.
In his words, great festivities will be organized on the Day of
Christmas, on January 6 and on Old New Year Day, January 13. Events
for children will be organized during other days, as well. In the
words of Movsisyan, about 25 million drams will be spent on New Year
festivities this year.
He said a town of fairy tales will be organized at the Republic Square
and Santa Clauses will walk around and amuse the children. He said the
Santas will be paid by the municipality. The municipality department
head also said festivities will be organized in the communities.
