DIFFERENCE OF SALARIES IN PRIVATE AND STATE SECTIONS ENVISAGED TO BE PLAYED DOWN YEAR AFTER YEAR

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 17, NOYAN TAPAN. The minimum salary will increase
by 5 thousand drams since January 1, 2008 and will make 25 thousand
drams (approximately 83 U.S. dollars. According to the information
provided to a Noyan Tapan correspondent by Vahan Simonian, the Head
of the Department of Labour and Employment of the RA Ministry of
Labour and Social Issues, since January 1 the base salary of civil
servicement will increase by 4500 drams, thus making 40 thousand drams.
According to him, the salary of civil servicemen is envisaged to
be increased year after year. One of the goals of that initiative
is to play down the essential difference of the salaries of private
and state sections Vahan Simonian mentioned that the average salary
of a number of specialities in the system of civil service makes 84
thousand and in private section 159 thousand drams.
