Vachagan Avagian who quitted the Armenian boxing team in October,
2007, hasn’t returned from the USA yet.
The Armenian boxer has gone back on his promise to return after the
World Boxing Champion.
"Vachagan made a promise to return by Christmas. So far we haven’t
heard from him. I think Vachagan’s return is improbable," Executive
Director of the Armenian Boxing Federation Alexander Sargsian told A1+.
By the way, the Armenian delegation had faced some problems before
leaving for the USA. Besides, two leading sportsmen had been denied
entry to the country.
Sargsian hopes that the incident will not affect visa issuing
further on.
"This is not the first time we have had problems with entrance
visas. No matter how hard we try such problems are inevitable. Whoever
steps the country, he settles there for ever."
Sargsian says that the administration is taking efforts in this
connection. "We are working with our sportsmen. We inspire love in them
towards their country. I think that a sportsman’s family upbringing
is also important. And yet, I know no means which might enable us to
prevent a sportsman’s flight. "
