HIS HOLINESS ARAM I RECEIVES THE AMBASSADOR OF AUSTRALIA

His Holiness Aram I received today the Ambassador of Australia in Lebanon Ms
Lyndall Sachs. During the meeting held in Antelias the Pontiff and his guest
discussed issues related to the upcoming presidential elections in Lebanon.

The Catholicos listened to the explanations provided by the Australian
diplomat and the position of her country on the issues discussed. Expressing
his own viewpoints, the His Holiness stressed the importance of a balanced
approach by the international community towards the Middle East. He
considered the rapid election of the president as the first step out of the
confusion in the country.

His Holiness also talked about the Armenian Church, the Catholicosate of
Cilicia and the Armenian Diaspora in response to the Ambassador’s interests
in these issues.
