ARMENIAN SPORTSMEN ACHIEVED 104 MEDALS IN 2007

2007 Armenian sportsmen achieved 104 medals in international
competitions in all age groups. RA Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs
Armen Grigoryan told a news conference today that more than 5 000
sportsmen participated in hundreds of competitions, including 78
national, European and World Championships.

A government delegation headed by RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan
has bee formed for the preparation of Armenian sportsmen for the 2008
Olympic Games in Beijing. The National Olympic Committee of Armenia
has created its Olympic headquarters headed by Gagik Tsarukyan,
the President of the National Olympic Committee.

Tickets and hotels and have been reserved in Beijing for the Armenian
delegation. Twelve Armenian sportsmen have already qualified for the
Olympic Games. Supposedly, 10-12 sportsmen will still book Olympic
berths.
