/PanARMENIAN.Net/ A new nuclear power plant in Armenia may be built
by an international consortium, RA Energy Minister Armen Movsisyan
told reporters.

"During recent 5 years the international community became more
optimistic about construction of a new nuclear power plant in Armenia
and is ready to lend a helping hand," he said.

According to Mr Movsisyan, Russia could supply reliable nuclear
reactors while Europe could help with electrotechnical equipment. "The
project feasibility study of a new ANPP may be developed in September
2008. Armenia and Russia are discussing prolongation of revenue of
the CJSC Inter RAO UES," he said adding that the problems with fuel
supply and preventive works have been resolved, Rosatom.ru reports.

The second reactor will be stopped in 2016. The ANPP will apparently
be finally closed in 2043. The dismantling will cost 238,75 million
euros and will be carried out in successive steps.
