Yerevan. OREANDA-NEWS . On December 21, 2007 the delegation of ALROSA
headed by its President Sergey Vybornov made a working trip to Armenia,
reported the press-centre of ALROSA.

The delegation was received by President of the Republic of Armenia
Robert Kocharian, Prime Minister Serge Sargsian, Minister of Trade
and Economic Development Nerses Yeritsian.

The discussions centered on the implementation of the agreement
signed on 6th August between ALROSA and the Armenian Government on
cooperation in the fields of diamond and jewellery manufacture.

The agreement provides, in particular, for bilateral exchanges
of information and coordinated moves aimed at strengthening the
competitive edge of Russian and Armenian diamond manufacturers in
the global market.

In line with the agreement a team of ALROSA experts has made a thorough
study of 20 diamond cutting enterprises in Armenia.

Consequently, with the approval of Armenias Ministry of Industry, four
diamond cutting enterprises were selected to which from December 2007
rough diamonds will be supplied by ALROSA in the volumes and ranges
agreed by the Parties. ALROSA has already sold rough diamonds to two
diamond cutting factories in Armenia.

Further on, after the analysis of the cooperation results in Half 1
2008, plans for 2009-2011 will be made.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
