IA `Regnum’: Armenian Youth Organizations to Propose Celebration of
Days of Armenia in Azerbaijan

Some details connected with organization of the Days of Azerbaijan in
Armenian remained beyond focus of press. It is informed in statement
of student union of Armenian revolutionary federation
`Dashnaktsutsun’ `Nicole Agbalyan’ and analytic center `Mitk’
released December 21.
Statement reads that Ministry of Science and Education of Armenia was
informed of events intended to be held in education center `Mkhitar
Sebastazi’ within the frames of the Days of Azerbaijan too late.
Otherwise, following assertions of Minister of Education and Science
of Armenia, Levon Mkrtchan, Ministry would have organized the above
events outside education center and they wouldn’t have been called
the Days of Azerbaijan, the statement reads.
The statement also reads that Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia
positively evaluated the above said events resting upon international
interests of the country.
Accordingly to students’ union `Nicole Agbalyan’ and analytical union
`Mitk’ the above mentioned fact isn’t realized by everyone in
Armenia, as Azerbaijanis are invited to the country, not taking into
account views of broad stratum of society and not making such
all-national and delicate issue the topic of public discussions.
`That is why when Azerbaijani guests come to Armenia they actually
don’t face the sole view of Armenian nation, but position of
individual persons or some organization which can coincide and not
coincide with views of broad strata of society. Student union `Nicole
Agbalyan’ and analytical center `Mitk’ also inform that launched
program is similar to Days of Azerbaijan and will be continued.
`Within the same format in January-February 2008 in Armenia there
will be held events the topic of discussion of which will be Turkey’,
they inform, expressing concern that the issue will be more delicate.
