ENVIORNMENTAL PAYMENTS GO UP BY 30 PERCENT
The incomes to the state budget on environmental
payments have gone up by 30 percent as against the
last year. The actual incomes made up 8.5 billion
drams in the year 2007. This was informed by Nature
Protection Minister Aram Harutunyan who summed up the
results of the year. In his words, the growth is due
to environmental payments which are determined by the
Law on Rates of Nature Protection Payments.
The minister underscored the air pollution management,
its improvement and reduction of corruption risks.
`Starting from this year, the cars which do not have
air pollution stabilizers are banned for import,’ he
said, also saying that several legislative acts are
adopted in the sector.
