HHK DEPUTY CHAIRMAN SAYS KOCHARYAN’S APPOINTMENT AS
PRIME MINISTER HAS NOT BEEN DISCUSSED
`We believe the parliamentary elections were the most
important event of the year 2007, which we underscore
not only in terms of their results but also in terms
of improvement of the electoral processes,’ Galust
Sahakyan, deputy chairman of the Armenian Republican
Party (HHK), told reporters today.
Sahakyan voiced his assurance the results of the
presidential elections will be positive since in case
the elections pass well, `the political realm and the
society will get healthy.’ The vice chairman said the
candidates compete only for the second place and there
will be `no extraordinary combat.’
Speaking about the appointments in case their
candidate Serzh Sargsyan wins, he mentioned that HHK
has a big cadre army and the people are familiar with
them. However, he said they are not going to speak
about that in the pre-election period.
Asked if Robert Kocharyan is considered as a possible
candidate for prime minister, Sahakyan said: `There
have been no such talks. As a political figure, he is
in our bank of advantages. However, the new president
will decide and tell about the new appointment.’
