ARMENIAN INFLATION TOTALS 6.6% IN 2007

Armenia posted inflation of 6.6% in 2007, including 1.5% in December
compared to November, the Armenian National Statistics Service said
in a statement.

The cost of food, including alcoholic beverages and tobacco, grew
2.5% in December, while nonfood prices rose 0.8%. Services grew 0.1%
in price in December.

Armenian Central Bank Chairman Tigran Sarkisian said in October that
inflation was to total 4% in 2007, give or take 1.5%. He said, however,
that inflation could total 7.5% in 2007 due to external factors.
