AUTHOR SIGNS BOOK ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

SARASOTA – Wounds are still raw here on the Suncoast from events that
happened in Turkey in 1915.

Author Margaret Ahnert is in Sarasota signing copies of her new book,
"The Knock on the Door".

It looks at the Armenian genocide through the eyes of her mother
ester who survived the horrors that took the lives of hundreds of
thousands of people.

The author was welcomed by the Armenian community here on the Suncoast.

Turkey still denies the genocide ever happened. Armenians here hope
this book will force them to admit responsibility.

"I need reconciliation how can I forgive you for something, but
you tell me you didn’t do it. How can I forgive you? I think the
truth will win out. Good people will not forget it. Truth will be
recognized, absolutely."

Ahnert will be signing copies of her book tonight at 7 at Sarasota
News and Books.
