ArmRosGazprom to issue bonds on Russian market in 2008

YEREVAN. Jan 10

Armenian-Russian CJSC ArmRosGazprom, Armenia’s sole gas importer,
plans to issue bonds on the Russian market in 2008, the company said
in a statement.

In addition, the company plans to issue bonds on the Armenian market.

At a meeting held in September 2007, ArmRosGazprom’s board of
directors approved the issue of mid-term bonds for 5 billion dram
(307.09 dram/$1 on January 10), or $14.7 million, in order to finance
gasification projects. This would be the second bond issue for the
company.

In July 2007, ArmRosGazprom issued its debut 18-month bonds for 1
billion dram, or $2.9 million, at 9%. In September, the bonds were
listed on the Armenian Stock Exchange (Armex).

The statement said that total trading of the debut bonds issue on the
Armex from the moment of its listing until the end of 2007 has come
to more than 211 million dram, or $736,000, which is a substantial
sum for the Armenian market.

ArmRosGazprom was founded in December 1997. The company’s current
charter capital comes to $391.8 million. The shareholders in
ArmRosGazprom are Russia’s Gazprom (RTS: GAZP) with a 57.59% stake,
the Armenian government – 34.7% and Itera Oil and Gas Company (RTS:
ITER) – 7.71%.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
