Viktor Soghomonyan: Mr. Aliyev’s fancy is the sad consequence of grand
celebration of the New Year

Commenting on Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s statements during
the Government sitting on January 11, RA President’s Spokesman Viktor
Soghomonyan declared in Yerevan today that `the latest statements of
the Azerbaijani President are deprived of rational sense and are nearly
impossible to comment on.’

In particular, Ilham Aliyev had declared that Armenia `lives under the
conditions of a closed, militarized and anti-democratic regime’ and
that `Armenia can give nothing to the international community neither
from the political, economic or cultural point of view.’

`Avoiding harsh rhetoric, it remains to suggest that the flight of Mr.
Aliyev’s fancy is the sad consequence of grand celebration of the New
Year.’
