In Armenia e-payments for communal services increased by 12% in
November 2007

ArmInfo. The number of e-payments for communal services, goods and
other services for November 2007 was up 12% to 128 mln 255 thsd AMD
(12114 payments), the National Unified Payment System (UPS) CJSC
Armenian Card told ArmInfo correspondent.
As compared with October 2007, the total volume of e-payments grew by
17 mln 494 thsd in November, and the number of operations – by 301. The
volume of non-cash operations through ArCa system’s plastic cards grew
by 75,5%, and the total volume of non-cash operations – (i.e. through
the cards issued by the UPS and other systems) grew by 20,21%.
As of December 1, 2007, the number of UPS service points (bancomats
exclusive) was 1347, 213 of them – cash withdrawal points. In
particular, as of this date, the number of POS-terminals in operation
totalled 1515, 263 of them – in exchange offices. 1485 of the total
number of POS-terminals serve ArCa cards, 1037 – Visa, and 1069 –
MasterCard. The members of the CJSC Armenian Card are the Central
Bank of Armenia and 20 commercial banks of Armenia.
