Turkey commemorated the assassination of Turkish Armenian Journalist
Hrant Dink. Hundred thousands of Turkish people took part ceremonies
organised in lots of cities for anniversary of Dink assasination.
Turkish people commerated Dink by carrying black banners saying `We
are all Armenian, We are all Hrant’ and `For Hrant For Justice’. They
protested assassination by shouting together `We are all Hrant’
slogan in four languages; Turkish, Kurdish, English, Armenian. Their
message to murderers was very clear: You can’t divide Turkey.

Dink, editor in chief of bilingual Agos Newspaper was killed by Ogun
Samast, a 17 year old boy. Police arrested Samast just 1 week after
the assassinaton but unfortunately couldn’t enlighten the darkness
felt on Turkey. According to interrogation Hrant Dink was threatened
many times and he had complained police about threating e-mail and
telephone calls. It is claimed also Turkish police, intelligence
services and military intelligence services was aware of
assassination before complaints of Dink but had watched this murderer
like a movie. Although Dink has mentioned these threats in his column
at Agos Newspaper. He wrote, lots of people had called and asked him
to leave Turkey unless he would be killed. Lots of times he defied
threats and said he wouldn’t leave and punish his enemies while being
buried in his country- Turkey. Once Dink likened himself to a
pigeon….the symbol of peace killed while trying reach his burrow.

As a courageous journalist one more time Dink uncovered a news, and
showed Turkey’s secret real traitors with his death. Thousands of
Turkish people commemorated Dink and proved they will never leave
Turkey to reign of secret traitors.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
