Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Great Britain Fakhraddin Gurbanov met with
the Member of House of Lords of this country Baroness O’Cathain.
During the meeting Baroness O’Cathain was informed about
Azerbaijan’s notable economic accomplishments achieved in the past
years, its successful energy policy, large-scale regional projects
implemented in the country, including Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline,
Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway
projects.
Speaking on the ongoing political processes in the region, the
Ambassador touched upon the Nagorno Garabagh conflict and occupation
of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia.
The diplomat spoke of the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group to resolve
the Nagorno Garabagh problem, stressing Armenia’s nonconstructive
position on the issue.
The Ambassador further answered the questions of Baroness O’Cathain
related to the internal and external policy of Azerbaijan.
The sides stressed necessity of further development of
inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries.
