Karabakh reportedly receives up to 300 migrant families in 2007

KARABAKH REPORTEDLY RECEIVE UP TO 300 MIGRANT FAMILIES IN 2007

Yerevan, 25 January: A total of 1bn drams were allocated from the
state budget of the [unrecognized] Nagornyy Karabakh republic (NKR)
in 2007 for the implementation of the project of settlement of
refugees and repatriates.

The department for migration, refugees and repatriation under the NKR
government has told the Mediamax news agency that 800.7m drams and
199.3m drams out of this amount were directed to residential
construction and social projects correspondingly.

Some 276 families or 1,001 people, of them 493 children, moved to
Nagornyy Karabakh from Armenia and other countries in 2007. All of
them were provided with the status of repatriates and benefit was
fixed by the state.
