E-PAYMENTS FOR COMMUNAL SERVICES AND TRADE GROW MORE THAN TWICE UP TO 1.270 BLN AMD IN ARMENIA

ArmInfo. The number of e-payments for communal services and trade
grew more than twice to 1.270 bln AMD (137210 payments) in 2007. As
ArmInfo correspondent was told at "Armenian Card" CJSC, the volume
of transfers from a card to another made up 385,2mln AMD (almost four
times annual growth), and the number -6333.

According to the source, in 2007 monthly volume of
internet-transactions made up 105,8mln AMD, on average, and the
number of payments-11434, while in 2006 these indicators made up
47,7mln AMD and 6613 payments, respectively.

As of November 1, 2008, in the structure of National Unified Payment
System (UPS), there were 1380 points of services/sale and cash points
(cashomates excluded), 223 of which were cash points. In particular, at
this date, the number of operating POS-terminals made up 1576, 277 of
which – at exchange points. From the total number of POS-terminals 1546
serve ArCa cards, 1086-Visa cards and 1122-MasterCard. The Central Bank
and 20 commercial banks of Armenia are members of "Armenian Card" CJSC.
