Azerbaijani soldier Samir Mammadov’s uncle: We are not told to what
country Samir has been handed over

The family of Azerbaijani soldier Samir Mammadov, who was captured by
Armenian armed forces on December 24, 2006 and handed over to the
third country on January 31 this year, has not been informed of his
whereabouts, the soldier’s uncle Vidadi Mammadov told APA.

He said it is not plausible that representation of the International
Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Azerbaijan does not know to what
country the captive was handed over.
`We do not believe it. They know to what country Samir has been
handed over, simply they do not want to say,’ he said.
Vidadi Mammadov said they will visit ICRC representation in Barda on
February 4 and demand explanation about the soldier’s whereabouts.
`Samir’s parents will also appeal to the State Commission on
Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons,’ he said.
The whereabouts of Samir Mammadov, who has been handed over to the
