AMBASSADOR OF SULTANATE OF OMAN HANDS COPY OF HIS CREDENTIALS TO RA DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 12, NOYAN TAPAN. On February 12, Abdullah Zaher
Al-Hussni, the newly appointed Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman, handed
the copy of his credentials to RA Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham
Gharibjanian. Wishing the Ambassador success in his high mission,
the Deputy Minister expressed the hope that during his tenure the
relations between Armenia and Oman in different spheres will receive
a new spirit and quality.

Touching upon centuries-old friendship between Armenian and Arab
peoples, the sides emphasized that the interstate relations develop
successfully on that basis. G. Gharibjanian said that the development
of relations with the Arab world is one of the prior directions of
Armenia’s foreign policy.

Expressing confidence about existence of potential for Armenia-Oman
mutually beneficial cooperation, the Ambassador mentioned the positive
attitude of the Oman side in connection with further development
of bilateral political and economic relations, in particular,
implementation of investment programs.

Abdullah Zaher Al-Hussni was born in 1958. In 1984 he graduated from
Ohio University, received bachelor’s degree with the speciality of
journalist-political scientist. In 1987 he graduated from Kuwait Law
College. In 1984 he was admitted to work in the Foreign Ministry of
Oman. In 1986 he was appointed Charge d’Affaires of Oman to Kuwait,
from 1992 worked at the Permanent Representation of Oman to UN. In
2000 he was appointed Ambassador of Oman to China and Korea, in 2006
Ambassador of Oman to RF. He masters the Arab, English languages. He
is married, has seven children.
