Armenia To Receive Humanitarian Aid From Russian Government

ARMENIA TO RECEIVE HUMANITARIAN AID FROM RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT

YEREVAN, February 13. /ARKA/. The RF Ministry of Emergency Situations
is carrying on the campaign on extending emergency humanitarian aid
to Armenia as part of Russia’s optional contribution to the UN World
Food Program (WFP). The RF Foreign Ministry reported that 2,363 tons
of vitamin-added wheat flour was sent to Armenia in December 2007.

The freight was handed over to the WFO representative at the port
of Eiska (Krasnodar Territory) and then sent to the port of Poti
(Georgia) to be later sent to Armenia by railway. It is expected to
arrive in Yerevan on February 14.

According to the Memorandum signed by the RF Ministry of Emergency
Situations and the UN WFO in Rome on December 11, 2007, Russia pledges
to render 1,557 tons of wheat flour and 300 tons of vegetable oil to
Armenia in 2008. The cargo shipment is scheduled for this April.

The Russian Ministry extended similar humanitarian aid to Azerbaijan.

2,016 tons of vitamin-added wheat flour and 217.5 tons of sunflower
oil were sent to Azerbaijan in December 2007.
