YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The members of the delegation
headed by A. Abrahamian, the Chairman of the Union of Armenians
in Russia and the World Armenian Congress, will meet with Mikael
Haroutiunian, the RA Minister of Defence, on February 13 for the
purpose of discussing the issues of the tradition being formed with
regard to the cooperation with the army.

Notebooks will be added to the 4 hundred computers given by the
Union of Armenians in Russia within the frameworks of the technical
assistance already displayed towards the RA National Army. The
representatives of the delegation of the World Armenian Congress and
the Union of Armenians in Russia will also visit military units of
the RA National Army.

The presentation of the collection of "Nagorno Karabakh in
international law and world politics" documents made public by the
Armenian Institute of Politology and International Law of Moscow
under the Union of Armenians in Russia will take place in the National
Academy of Sciences on the same day.

The collection of documents was published edited by Yuri Barseghov,
a Doctor of legal sciences and a professor of the international
law. The presentation will be followed by the ceremony of concluding
the results of the competitions of the creative works declared as
best by the World Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians in
Russia jointly with the Armenian Writers’ Union and Journalists’ Union.

According to the message received from the Press Department of
the Armenian branch of the World Armenian Congress, the World
Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians in Russia together
with the Armenian Writers’ Union have declared "The Armenian at the
beginning of the 21st century" literary competition, the main problem
of which is to promote the modern Armenian prose and give new creative
strength to the writer: "Preoccupation that literature again becomes
a rostrum of public consciousness and formation of public opinion,
when under these new political conditions new challenges have been
set connected not only with the crisis of reading spread throughout
the world, but also with the sharp change of the system of value."

"The idea of seeing the Diaspora and the Mother Homeland in the same
field, of not losing the dear qualities of the national identity
in the worldalization gulf lies in the axis of a not less modern
journalistic competition titled "Homeland – the Diaspora, the Diaspora
– the Diaspora with the world with our identity," the message says.

On the same day the members of the delegation will take part in the
opening of computer classrooms made by the donation of the Union of
Armenians in Russia in the schools of the border rural communities
of Armenia. "The computeralization of the schools of Armenia and
Artsakh has been an obligatory component of the yearly activities
of the World Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians in Russia
for already many years. Twelve schools of border rural communities
will be added to the hundreds of institutions, which have obtained
computer classrooms and auditoriums due to the donation of the World
Armenian Congress and the Union of Armenians in Russia one of these
days, taking into consideration the programs adopted by the Armenia –
the Diaspora second conference.

It should be mentioned that on the initiative of the World Armenian
Congress the second international conference titled "The countries
of the Caucasus and the Near East as possible partners in the
formation process of a regional security system" was also held in
Yerevan on February 7-8, which was attended by scientists, political
scientists – analysts, political-public figures, and representatives
of international organizations, who had arrived from a number of
countries.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
